How to Choose Based on Your Body and Sitting Style
Not every cushion works for every body. A few things to consider before you pick one.
Hip flexibility. If your knees sit well below your hips when you sit cross-legged, a flatter cushion works fine. If your knees sit higher than your hips, you need more lift. A taller zafu like the Cosmic Cushion gives your pelvis room to tilt forward instead of fighting against tight hips.

Zafu vs Zabuton, What Is the Difference?
A zafu is the round, raised cushion you sit on. It lifts the hips above the knees, which tilts the pelvis forward and keeps the spine naturally upright without effort. A zabuton is the flat mat that goes underneath, protecting the knees and ankles from a hard floor during longer sits. Used together, they are the traditional setup for cross-legged meditation. If you only have a hard floor and no rug, the zabuton matters more than people expect. Most discomfort in early sits comes from the knees, not the back.
