Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a holistic healthcare approach that focuses on the relationship between the body’s structure and its function, emphasizing the musculoskeletal system’s role in overall health. It is based on the principle that the body has an inherent ability to regulate and heal itself when its structures are balanced and functioning properly.
Osteopaths use a range of hands-on techniques, including joint manipulation, stretching, soft-tissue work, and gentle mobilization, to improve movement, relieve tension, and support circulation. Treatment aims to address the underlying causes of physical dysfunction rather than isolated symptoms, promoting coordination between muscles, joints, nerves, and connective tissues.
While chiropractic care primarily focuses on spinal alignment and adjustments to support nerve function, osteopathy takes a broader, whole-body approach, working with multiple systems and using a wider variety of manual techniques beyond spinal manipulation.
