Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, hands-on therapeutic approach that works with the craniosacral system, which includes the membranes, connective tissues (fascia), and cerebrospinal fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord. The practice uses very light, non-invasive touch—typically applied over clothing—to assess subtle rhythmic movements and restrictions within the tissues.

Practitioners are trained to detect variations in the craniosacral rhythm through palpation and to identify areas of physical restriction within superficial or deep connective tissue, including regions associated with the spine, organs, or cranial membranes. Using specific manual techniques grounded in anatomical knowledge, the therapist aims to release these restrictions and support balance within the nervous system.

Craniosacral Therapy emphasizes minimal pressure to avoid triggering defensive responses in the body, allowing tissues to release tension naturally. The approach is rooted in osteopathic principles and focuses on supporting physiological regulation, deep relaxation, and overall structural balance.
