Mercury-Jupiter Conjunction 2026

Astrology · Guest Insight — A Guide by Astrologer Daniel Torres Calderón

Mercury and Jupiter align in Leo this August, right in the middle of this year's eclipse season. We sat down with astrologer Daniel Torres Calderón to unpack what that actually means, and more importantly, what to do with it.

Meet Daniel Torres Calderón

Who Is Daniel Torres Calderón?

Daniel Torres Calderón began studying astrology in 2014 while living in New York and training at the Kabbalah Centre, where his first real introduction to the subject came through Kabbalistic and karmic astrology, the kind that reads your natal chart as a map of your soul's unfinished business, not just your personality traits. His first astrology book was about the Tikkun, the soul correction tied to the North Node, which is also the axis that governs eclipses. That early, more esoteric training is still the backbone of how he reads a chart today.

After moving back to Peru, he trained privately with a working astrologer and began reading charts professionally about a decade ago. Nine years ago he founded Oasis Holístico, a holistic cultural center in Lima, where astrology became an official part of his practice rather than a side interest. From there, the work opened doors on its own, invitations to retreats and festivals took him to Mexico, back to New York, years of nomadic travel, and eventually to Lisbon, where he's now based.

More recently, Daniel has been folding hypnosis into his work. After years spent going deep into the why behind people's patterns through astrology, he kept running into the same wall, with himself, with friends, with clients, knowing exactly what needs to change, and still not changing it. Hypnosis, he says, is the tool for that last step: reprogramming the pattern directly instead of just understanding it intellectually.

The Mercury-Jupiter Conjunction, Explained

What's actually happening this mid-August

Why the window matters more than most transits.

How To Use It

Mercury and Jupiter align in Leo this August, arriving just days after the total solar eclipse that swept through Leo earlier in the month. The effect isn't a single-day thing: it builds in the days leading up to the exact alignment and stays strong for a while after, so there's no need to rush if you're catching this a little later in the window. Mercury governs the mind: how you process ideas, how you speak, how information moves through you. Jupiter governs expansion: vision, belief, growth, the long view. When the two align, ideas don't just form, they expand. Your voice carries further. Your words land with more weight than usual. Daniel is clear about one thing first: this isn't a ritual moment. Eclipse season in general isn't for ritual. It's for setting intention. And the Mercury-Jupiter conjunction specifically is less about the mystical and more about the practical. Leo rules creativity and the heart, so if you've been sitting on a creative idea that's already cooked, this is the window to say it out loud.

Do it

Launch what's ready, Got a project, a podcast, a course, or an offer that's fully baked? This is the moment to put it out into the world, not to start planning it from scratch.

Connect

Connect with mentors, Jupiter also rules mastery. Book the strategy call, reach out to the coach or mentor who can take your idea to the next level.

Mastery

Master an existing idea, Rather than chasing something new, use this window to refine and level up something you're already working on.

Intentions

Set intentions, not rituals, Where do you see yourself heading? What do you want your ideas to become? This is a strong moment for a vision board, for your life, or for where you want your business to be in the next nine months.

Why This Window Is Different

Not "spiritual girl, mystic, manifesting" energy. Something you can actually use.

Launch & Communicate

Announce the project, publish the piece, hit send on the pitch you've been sitting on. Mercury-Jupiter extends how far your words travel.

Master & Mentor

Book the strategy call. Reach out to a teacher or coach. Jupiter's energy here is about leveling an idea up, not starting over.

Plan & Visualize,

Build the vision board. Map the next nine months. Use the clarity to plan ahead, even if what you're planning won't launch until later.

The most common reaction to hearing about a date like this is: okay, but I don't have anything ready to launch. That's exactly the point of knowing in advance. If your astrologer tells you in June that something significant is coming in August, you have two months to get the thing ready, so that when the window opens, you're not scrambling, you're launching.

The Real Value of Timing

  • The conjunction happens at 10° Leo, most relevant for anyone with placements in Leo, Aries, Sagittarius, or other fixed/fire signs.

  • It follows the August 12 total solar eclipse in Leo, so it lands squarely inside this year's eclipse season.

  • The effect builds in the days before the exact alignment and stays strong for a while after, with ideas seeded here tending to develop over the following weeks.

  • This is a mental/communication-focused transit, best used for speaking, pitching, publishing, and planning, not for starting deep emotional work.

Quick Questions

No. Daniel is specific about this: eclipse season and this conjunction are for setting intentions and taking practical action, not for ritual work.
