FOOD Mercearia Biológica is a beloved organic grocery store and cafeteria in the heart of Santos, half deli, half market, entirely dedicated to organic products. The grocery side stocks a strong lineup of Portuguese goods, from granola and acai bowls to energy bars, a fully organic Portuguese wine cellar, hummus, organic beer, and artisanal honey, alongside international organic brands.

On the cafeteria side, the menu features fresh, made-to-order dishes like eggs, pancakes, sandwiches, hamburgers, porridge, and acai bowls, plus a daily rotating soup made from vegetables sourced right from the grocery shelves. Drinks include smoothies, green juices, fresh fruit juices, coffee, and tea. The kitchen offers gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options throughout the menu.

Founded by Cláudia Faria after she noticed organic eating in Portugal was still a niche mostly tied to other diets like veganism, FOOD set out to make organic food approachable for everyday eating, not just a specialty market. The space has both indoor seating and outdoor tables, making it a popular spot for breakfast, lunch, or a quick coffee break in the Cais do Sodré and Santos area.
